SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A 25-year-old girl was attacked by a stray dog inside the University of Sulaimani on Monday, according to authorities.
Hassan Baqer, administrative director of the university of Sulaimani, told Esta Media Network that the incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. when the girl who is an employee at the university’s cafeteria went to work.
“There are around 30 to 40 dogs inside the university,” he said. “We have requested the related institutions several times to keep the dogs away from the university but no necessary actions have been made so far.”
Meanwhile, director of Shorish Hospital Chalak Qashani said one of the girl’s arms was injured in the attack and that she had received treatment.
“Muscles of her arm which the dog bit were injured,” Qashani told Esta Media Network.
“She is now a stable and has received adequate treatment.”
