SULAIMANI (ESTA) — At least 147,000 tourists visited Sulaimani province during Eid al-Fitr holiday, authorities said on Friday.
The general directorate of tourism in Sulaimani said the tourists included Iraqis from other provinces, Iranian and foreigners and entered the province through border crossings and the airport serving Sulaimani.
It further said 80 percent of the tourists were from central and southern Iraq.
More than 170,000 people visited Dukan resort during the three days of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
