SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) cadre was killed in Kirkuk on Saturday, the party’s office said.

In a statement, the PUK office in Kirkuk said Rebwar Mohammed Amin was killed by a group of people in the neighborhood of Panja Ali in the city on Saturday.

“We are in touch with police to find criminals so that they will be detained and brought to justice,” it added.

Police said in a statement that they had launched an investigation into the incident and that initial reports showed that it was not a “terrorists act”, according to Iraqi media.
