Iraqi PM discusses future of cooperation with the U.S.-led coalition with Pompeo

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi discussed the future of cooperation between Iraq and the coalition forces in a phone call with U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo.

Kadhimi received a phone call from Pompeo on Tuesday, the Iraqi premier’s media office said in a statement posted on Facebook.

Kadhimi and Pompeo discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, according to the statement.

“They also discussed the future of cooperation between Iraq and the international coalition led by the United States of America, in light of the growing Iraqi capabilities in combating terrorism,” the statement said.
