SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Security forces and police detained two suspects in connection with a shooting of a Sulaimani nightclub on Saturday night, authorities said on Sunday.
A person was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting that took place at a nightclub in Sulaimani city late on Saturday.
Spokesman of Sulaimani’s Asayish directorate Yaseen Sami’ said the security forces and police launched an investigation into the incident shortly after the incident.
“The main suspect was detained by the Asayish forces after a few hours,” he said in a press conference.
Police arrested the second suspect, he added.
The fighting broke out between security guards of the nightclub, a Peshmerga officer and a number of other people, according to official.
The Peshmerga officer was killed as a result of the shooting.
Meanwhile, Police Spokesman Sarkawt Ahmed said a Kalashnikov rifle and two vehicles used by the suspects were seized.
