Police arrest suspect attempting to ‘assassinate’ bank director in Kirkuk

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Police detained a suspect attempting to murder a bank director in Kirkuk on Friday, according to authorities.

Police received information about an attempt to “assassinate” the director of one of the banks, who was followed by a suspect in the city, a statement by police said.

Police arrested the suspect as he opened fire at the vehicle, the statement read.

Spokesman of police Amir Nuri confirmed the “assassination attempt” to Esta Media Network, but refused to provide further details.

“The person was the director of one of the big banks and three bullets were shot at his vehicle” Nuri said.
