SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Authorities in Erbil closed 16 spa centers on Wednesday, a local official said.
Erbil mayor Nabaz Abdulwahid said some of the centers had become a “prostitution place” while some others had no certificate.
“A number of others wasn’t committed by hygiene instructions,” Abdulwahid added.
The mayor further said the campaign would continue to close places that violate instructions.
Last month, the security forces closed at least 10 nightclubs in the city. Authorities said they had violated instructions and regulations.
More than 170 men and women were detained in one of the nightclubs, according to police. They were detained over “prostitution”, a police source told Esta Media Network.
