Explosion hits house of Taqaddum party’s MP in Baghdad – report

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An explosion from a hand grenade hit the house of a lawmaker from the Iraqi parliament speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi’s Taqaddum Party in Baghdad early on Sunday, Iraqi media reported.

A security source told Shafaq News that the attack targeted the house of lawmaker Abdul Karim Abtan in al-Sidiya area, south of Baghdad.

There were only material damages, the Iraqi media outlet said.

The attack came after the headquarters of Taqaddum Party and Azm Party led by Sunni politician Khamis al-Khanjar were attacked in Baghdad on Friday.

Two people were wounded in the attack on Taqaddum party’s headquarters.

On Thursday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) headquarters was also attacked in Baghdad.

There was no claim of responsibility for the incidents.
