Iraqi CTS commander visits counter-terrorism service in Sulaimani

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Commander of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) Abdul Wahab al-Saadi met with Kurdish security officials in Sulaimani city on Sunday.

Saadi along with commander of Coalition forces in Iraq and Syria Major General John Brennan visited the headquarters of the Kurdish counter-terrorism forces (CTG) in Sulaimani, according to a CTG statement.

Saadi accompanied by general director of intelligence and security Gohdar Mohammed Saeed met with Jalal Sheikh Naji, member of the Kurdistan Region’s Security Council, Omer Salih, Chief of Staff of Peshmerga’s Unit 70, Wahab Halabjayee, director of the Counter-Terrorism Service-Sulaimani, and Sarkhel Kamal, head of Sulaimani Security Operations, the statement read.

The officials discussed ways to develop relations between the Iraqi and Kurdish counter-terrorism forces as well as joint operations to eliminate Islamic State (ISIS) remnants, the statement said.
