Kurdistan Region president denounces ‘terrorist attack’ in western Baghdad

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani condemned an attack by a group of militants which killed several people in western Baghdad on Sunday (November 8).

In a statement on Monday, the Region’s president said terrorism still poses a threat to people’s lives, peace and stability in the country.

“I strongly condemn the terrorist assault late last night on a base hosting Iraq’s security forces in Al-Radwaniyah, in which unfortunately several members of the security forces and a number of civilians lost their lives,” said Barzani.

“These attacks demonstrate that terrorism continues to pose threats to our lives, peace and stability. Therefore, it is imperative that all of us stand united, cooperate, coordinate, and confront it together.”

Four people were killed and three others were wounded after a group of militants attacked a military post in the village of al-Balasma in Radhwaniyah area on Sunday night, according to the Iraqi military.
