Iran’s forces detain two Kurdish activists in Sanandaj – watchdog

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iranian security forces detained two Kurdish activists in Sanandaj, according to a rights organization.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said forces belonging to the information directorate raided house of the father of activist Kazhal Nasri in Sanandaj on December 12.

“They arrested her without showing any judicial evidence,” Hengaw cited a source with knowledge of the matter as saying.

The organization, which monitors human rights abuses in Iranian Kurdistan, said there was no information on whereabouts of the 26-year-old activist.

The security forces also raided the house of activist Farhang Aywazi, 30, on December 12 and arrested him, according to the organization.

Iran’s forces have begun a wave of detention in the Kurdish areas in the country, Hengaw said. At least 42 people have been detained in Baneh, Saqqez, Marivan and Sanandaj in the last month.

Only three of the detainees were released on bail, according to the organization.
