SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi forces seized billions of counterfeit dinars and a machine used to forge currency in Baghdad, a military spokesman said in Saturday.
Yehia Rasool, spokesman of commander-in-chief of the Iraqi armed forces, said units from intelligence service and security forces managed to seize 13 billion dinars and $23,000 in counterfeit money in al-Shaljiya area in Baghdad.
The security forces also seized special tissue papers and a machine used to forge currency, including coloring and cutting, Rasool said in a tweet.
The Iraqi military spokesman did not mention whether any person had been detained.
