Kurdistan Region reports 1,002 new COVID-19 cases, 25 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region registered 1,002 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 25 deaths on Friday, said the health ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said it had recorded 427 new infections in Erbil, 163 in Sulaimani, 331 in Duhok, 32 in Halabja, 38 in Garmian and 11 in Raparin.

The ministry further said seven deaths were in Erbil, seven in Sulaimani, eight in Duhok and three in Halabja, Garmian and Raparin.

Up to 532 more patients had recovered from the virus over the past 24 hours, the ministry added.

The Region’s total number of infections reached 75,336, of which 2,431 died and 42,608 recovered, according to the health ministry.
