Iraq records 3,804 new COVID-19 cases, 45 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Thursday that it had registered 3,804 new cases of coronavirus and 45 deaths over the previous 24 hours.

The ministry said in a statement that 1,079 cases were in Baghdad, 580 in Erbil, 440 in Duhok, 265 in Sulaimani, 207 in Diyala, 175 in Kirkuk, 162 in Basra, 161 in Saladin, 159 in Nineveh, 132 in Wasit, 104 in Najaf and 101 in Maysan.

The ministry of health added that 69 more infections were in Babil, 51 in Diwaniyah, 36 in Dhi Qar, 35 in Karbala, 28 in Anbar and 20 in Muthanna.

As many as 3,376 more patients had recovered from COVID-19, the ministry’s statement read.

Iraq’s total number of infections 467,755, of which 10,815 died and 394,386 recovered, according to the health ministry.
