SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Two improvised explosive devices (IED) hit a contractor convoy belonging to U.S.-led Coalition forces in southern Iraq on Monday, Iraqi media reported.
Shafaaq News reported that a convoy for a contractor transferred logistic support for the Coalition forces was hit by two separate blasts on the highway in Dhi Qar province on Monday.
The first IED did not cause any casualties or damages, a source told Shafaaq News, while the second IED burned one of the trucks, with no reported casualties.
The Iraqi military and Coalition forces have yet to confirm the attack.
In December, a homemade bomb hit a contractor convoy in Babil province, transferring logistic support for the U.S.-led Coalition forces.
A driver of another contractor convoy was wounded after an IED hit the convoy in Diwaniyah, south of Baghdad, last month.
Washington blames Iran-backed militias for regular attacks on U.S. facilities and convoys in Iraq.
