SULAIMANI – (ESTA) Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)، has issued a message saying, “Today we commemorate the 36th anniversary of Anfal and the genocide of our people. We pay tribute to the souls of the martyrs and send greetings of courage and resistance to their proud families.”.
The PUK president said that “Anfal is an unforgettable crime and a deep wound in the heart of the country. It was an aim to destroy a nation that called for freedom and dreamed of prosperity. It is also a historical lesson to understand how many differences we have. Our Kurdishness comes first، and our fate and survival depend on our unity.”.
“The Kurdish nation has suffered all kinds of suffering in the past. We cannot ignore this history، continue politics with narrow parties and personal interests, and sacrifice high values and goals to an unjust and unnecessary conflict. Therefore, I hope that all of us will work Kurdishly and responsibly and direct our oppressed nation towards stability and prosperity. A nation that we all owe their sacrifices.” he spoke.
