SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Twelfth-grade ministerial exams kicked off in the Kurdistan Region on Saturday morning with over 117,000 students participating in the process for the scientific, literary, and vocational schools.
“Internet services will be suspended temporarily from 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. during the process to prevent the exams’ questions leak,” said, the general director of Sulaimani Education, Dlshad Omar.
“We have issued several new instructions, specifically focusing on students’ psychological situation to provide a calm and peaceful environment during the exams,” He said in a press briefing.
At least four bands who claimed to possess “leaked” exam questions have been arrested and charged with fraud. One of them was sentenced to three years in prison, according to Omar’s words.
“We have spared no efforts to provide every necessary need for the students at the exam halls, especially air conditioners,” He added.
Omar also pointed out that they had coordinated with Sulaimani police, adding, at least nine units from the directorate of police have been dedicated in anticipation of any incidents during the process.
“We have been accompanied by a unit of police on a daily basis amid transferring the exam papers.”
