SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq will begin fuel exports to Lebanon in 2021 using global prices, the Iraqi minister of oil said on Monday.

The oil ministry said in a statement that minister Ihsan Abduljabbar met his Lebanese counterpart Raymond Ghajar in Baghdad on Monday.

The Iraqi oil minister said an agreement had been reached with Lebanon to start fuel export supplies to Beirut in 2021, the ministry said.

Fuel supply quantities will be “limited and to be announced later” and will cover part of Lebanon’s needs for fuel to generate power, the Iraqi ministry of oil cited Abduljabbar as saying.

Iraq’s oil ministry quoted Ghajar as saying that it was agreed to import fuel oil from Iraq to cover the requirements of Lebanese power stations.
