SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Deputy for the Iranian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday made a visit to the Bashmax Iran-Iraq Border Crossing in Sulaimani Province.
Speaking in a press briefing, Mahmood Taher, the General Director of the Bashmax border crossing stated that they received the newly-appointed Deputy Consul General of Iran, Aghai Mahmoodian, and his accompanying delegation.
The Iranian official’s visit aimed at further enhancing trade relationships and offering more facilitation to tourists that use the Bashmax Border Crossing, according to Taher’s words.
“Bashmax is one of the significant international border crossings for both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Iran,” He said.
“We have good relationships with His Excellency Aghai Mahmoodian, and we hope his appointment as Deputy Consul General brings prosperity to the bilateral tasks,” He added.
