Fire burns down tents, kills two infants in displacement camp in Zakho

People extinguish fire that broke out at a displacement camp in Zakho, April 15, 2022.

SULAIMANI (ESTA) —  Two infants on Sunday were killed after a fire broke out in Chammshko camp of internally displaced Yezidis in Duhok’s Zakho.   

A fire burned down two tents, resulting in the killing of two infants while leaving massive material damage.

An electrical short circuit is believed to be the possible cause of the fire.

The Chamshko camp hosts about 5,000 displaced Yezidi families.

Fire incidents inside displacement which are located in the Kurdistan Region are very common.
