SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An arrest warrant on Monday was issued to an ex-deputy minister in Iraq for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of one of the private companies.
The State News Agency INA reported that The Federal Integrity Commission announced, the issuance of an arrest warrant against a former deputy minister.
“The deputy is charged for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of one of the private companies,” INA said.
INA cited the investigations department of the Commission as saying, “The second Karkh investigation court issued an arrest warrant against the (former) Deputy Minister of Electricity, for blackmailing and bargaining with the director of one of the private companies.”
It also elaborated on the reason saying, “the arrest warrant issued by the court came based on the provisions of Article (Second of Resolution 160 of 1983) for his requesting a sum of money in return for awarding one of the tenders announced in the Ministry of Electricity to his company.”
