Iraqi MPs call on parliament to hold immediate session regarding Turkey’s attacks

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — On Thursday 91 Members of the Iraqi council of representatives called on the parliament to hold an immediate session on the Turkish attack in Zakho. 

According to a handwriting paper signed by the Iraqi MPs, in relying upon the parliament laws and constitutional procedures, the council members called the parliament urgently to hold an immediate session regarding Turkey’s violations and targeting of civilians.

The MPs also demanded that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi attend the session, who is also the commander in chief of all Iraqi armed forces, along with the defense minister.

Around 4:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the Turkish artilleries opened a traumatic shelling, targeting a tourist site in a resort located in Parkhe village in Zakho district of Duhok province, despite the presence of hundreds of Arab tourists who came from southern provinces of the country.

The latest official report about the number of victims released by the Kurdistan Region health ministry showed, that 34 victims were reported and many of them are children, and women as well. At least Nine Arabs were killed, including a one-year-old baby.
