SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish warplanes have carried out airstrikes 50 times against targets in the foothills of Kurazhar mountain in Duhok province in the past 24 hours, Esta Media Network reporter said.
The reporter said Turkish fighter jets bombed the mountain in Shiladze sub-district for over two hours on Sunday.
“Turkish warplanes have bombed the mountain 50 times in the last 24 hours,” the reporter added.
Turkey has increased airstrikes against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Duhok province since last week.
On Thursday, several vehicles and houses of civilians were damaged due to a Turkish strike on Hirure village in Amedi, northeast of Duhok.
On Saturday, a 20-year-old man was shot dead by the Turkish military in Bradost region in northeast of Erbil, according to information Esta Media Network has learned.
On Friday, as many as 12 people were detained by the Turkish military in Dila, Malmalok and Maydan villages in Soran district, northeast of Erbil.
The Turkish military has established dozens of military points and bases in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province.
