COVID-19 cases in Kurdistan Region rise by 1,285 to 74,334: health ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s coronavirus cases rose by 1,285 to 74,334 on Thursday, said the ministry of health.

Up to 580 cases were recorded in Erbil, 187 in Sulaimani, 440 in Duhok, 27 in Halabja, 36 in Garmian and 15 in Raparin, the ministry said in a statement.

Eighteen patients had died from the virus in the last 24 hours, the health ministry added. Two deaths were in Erbil, eight in Sulaimani, six in Duhok and two in Halabja and Raparin.

As many as 503 other patients had recovered, according to the ministry of health.

The Region’s death toll rose to 2,406 while total number of recoveries reached 42,076.
