Iraq reports 4,043 new COVID-19 cases, 46 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq on Wednesday registered 4,043 new coronavirus infections and 46 deaths in the previous 24 hours, said the health ministry.

The Iraqi health ministry said in a statement that 1,174 in Baghdad, 596 in Erbil, 458 in Duhok, 243 in Sulaimani, 186 in Diyala, 169 in Wasit, 155 in Kirkuk, 155 more in Basra, 151 in Babil, 151 others in Nineveh, 130 in Maysan, 108 in Najaf and 106 in Saladin.

The ministry of health added that 66 other cases were in Anbar, 62 in Muthanna, 60 in Diwaniyah, 41 in Karbala and 32 in Dhi Qar.

Up to 2,929 more patients had recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, the ministry stated.

Iraq’s total number of infections reached 463,951, of which 10,770 died and 391,010 recovered, according to the health ministry.
