SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An improvised explosive device (IED) hit a convoy transporting equipment for the Iraqi forces in south of Baghdad, the security media cell said.

Iraq’s security media cell said the convoy was attacked in the Masaieed area in al-Najmi sub-district between Samawah and al-Diwaniyah on Tuesday morning.

“One of the trucks was damaged,” it said in a tweet, adding that the convoy continued to move towards its point.

The attack was the latest in a series of attacks on convoys transferring logistical support for the Iraqi security forces in the country.

The United States blames Iran-backed militias for regular attacks on U.S. facilities and convoys in Iraq.
