SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq has resumed direct flights to Britain, said the ministry of transport on Sunday.

The ministry of transport said in a statement that Iraqi Airways had resumed direct flights from Baghdad and Sulaimani to London.

“The first scheduled flight was launched today [Sunday],” said Kafah Hassan, general director of company at the Iraqi transport ministry.

“One flight will be operated once per week as a first stage, in the hope of increasing the number of flights during the coming period,” Hassan added.

He also called on travelers to follow health guidelines designed to contain spread of the coronavirus when they travel from Iraq to Britain, and vice versa.
