Iraq logs 4,044 new coronavirus cases and 63 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Monday it had registered 4,044 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 63 deaths in the previous 24 hours.

The Iraqi ministry said in a statement that 1,542 cases were in Baghdad, 406 in Duhok, 326 in Erbil, 300 in Sulaimani, 181 in Saladin, 168 in Basra, 166 in Diyala, 153 in Wasit, 149 in Kirkuk, 140 in Nineveh, 138 in Babil and 118 in Maysan.

The ministry stated that 98 other cases were in Najaf, 39 in Dhi Qar, 38 in Anbar, 36 in Muthanna, 25 in Karbala and 21 in Diwaniyah.

It added that 3,055 more patients had recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Iraq’s total number of cases reached 430,678 infections, of which 363,532 recovered and 10,317 died, according to the ministry’s figures.
