SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The “Kurdistan Region of Iraq: Unity and Constitution” conference kicked off in Erbil on Wednesday, with participation of senior Kurdish officials and leaders.
The one-day conference held by the University of Kurdistan – Hewler will host various speeches and open panel discussions from keynote speakers and influential political and religious figures from the Region, according to the university.
“The necessity of unity among the region’s political parties and the need for a constitution will be discussed in depth, in addition to the different aspects of unity and a constitution for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,” the university said.
Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, Parliament Speaker Rewaz Fayaq and leaders of the political parties as well as U.N. Envoy to Iraq Jeanine Hennis-Plaschaet attend the conference.
