The World Press Photo Exhibition opens in Sulaimani city

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The World Press Photo Exhibition organized by Metrography Agency opened in Sulaimani city on Monday.

Sponsored by Vim Foundation, the World Press Photo exhibition kicked off at Metrography gallery in the city of Sulaimani.

Managing Director of Metrography Agency Ahmed Najm told Esta Media Network that the exhibition would be opened daily until June 2.

“The best photos chosen by global judges will be showcased in the exhibition,” said Najim, who also served on the general jury that selects the winners.

The World Press Photo said on its website that the winners were chosen by “an independent jury that reviewed more than 74,479 photographs entered by 4,315 photographers from 130 countries.”

Metrography Agency is an independent photo agency in Iraq, founded by Kurdish photographer Kamaran Najm and American photographer Sebastian Mayer.
