Kurdistan Region’s COVID-19 cases pass 150,000: health ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Kurdistan Region’s coronavirus cases surpassed 150,000 on Thursday, the ministry of health said.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that it had recorded 868 new cases of the coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, raising the total number to 150,008.

The ministry registered 193 new cases in Erbil, 279 in Sulaimani, 321 in Duhok, 12 in Halabja, 57 in Garmian and six in Raparin.

Eleven patients had died from the virus in the past 24 hours, of which nine were in Duhok, the health ministry added, bringing the death toll to 4,016.

As many as 907 patients had also recovered, according to the ministry’s figures.
