Iraq logs 3,921 new coronavirus cases, 58 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq on Tuesday recorded 3,921 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 58 deaths, the ministry of health said.

In a statement, the Iraqi health ministry said it had registered 1,491 cases in Baghdad, 353 in Sulaimani, 317 in Erbil, 278 in Wasit, 230 in Duhok and 202 in Maysan.

The ministry added that 157 new cases in Basra, 150 in Nineveh, 141 in Kirkuk, 137 in Saladin, 116 in Diyala, 73 in Babil, 62 in Najaf, 49 in Diwaniyah, 47 in Karbala, 43 in Muthanna, 39 in Anbar and 38 in Dhi Qar.

As many as 4,158 more patients had recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, the ministry stated.

So far, Iraq has logged 409,358 coronavirus cases, with 9,970 deaths and 344,208 recoveries, according to the health ministry’s figures.
