SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Iraqi oil ministry said on Tuesday China’s Sinopec has won a contract to develop Iraq’s Mansuriya gas field near the Iranian border.

The Mansuriyah gas field is located in Diyala province, 50 kilometers northeast of Baquba city.

Last year, Iraq cancelled a contract signed with a group led by the Turkish Petroleum Corp (TPAO) to develop the field, according to Reuters.

The ministry decided to invite international energy companies to compete to develop it.
