SULAIMANI (ESTA) — An improvised explosive device (IED) hit a convoy west of Baghdad, supplying U.S.-led Coalition forces in Iraq, a security source said on Thursday.

Shafaq News cited the source as saying that the convoy was targeted on Abu Ghraib highway in west of the Iraqi capital.

Iraqi Security Media Cell confirmed the attack, but did not say if the convoy belonged to the Coalition forces.

The attack caused no casualties, the Iraqi military said.

The attack is the latest in a series of attacks on convoys supplying the Coalition forces, training the Iraqi security forces to fight Islamic State (ISIS) militants in the country.

On Tuesday, two explosions hit a contractor convoy in Babil and another convoy transferring coalition equipment for Iraqi forces in Dhi Qar.

The United States blames Iran-backed militias for regular attacks on U.S. facilities and convoys in Iraq.
