SULAIMANI (ESTA) — One person was killed when a motorcycle exploded in an area in east of Baghdad on Tuesday, the Iraqi military said.
Iraqi security media cell said in a statement that an explosive device attached to the motorcycle caused the blast on Qanat street in east of Baghdad.
The biker was killed and another person who accompanied him was injured, the statement read.
“The biker was carrying two hand grenades and a homemade explosive device,” the Iraqi military said, adding that preliminary results indicated that he intended to transfer the materials to a specific place.
“Damage to the explosive materials caused the explosion,” it added.
