Iraq reports 4,785 new coronavirus cases, 67 deaths

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq recorded 4,785 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 67 deaths on Friday, the ministry of health said.

In a statement, the ministry of health said it had recorded 2,016 infections in Baghdad, 403 in Dhi Qar, 393 in Wasit, 358 in Basra, 255 in Duhok, 193 in Sulaimani, 192 in Erbil, 159 in Babil, 150 in Diyala, 127 in Kirkuk and 121 in Maysan.

The ministry further said 90 more cases were in Diwaniyah, 87 in Karbala, 86 in Nineveh, 47 in Muthanna, 42 in Najaf, 41 in Anbar and 25 in Saladin.

The health ministry added that 3,922 more patients had recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours.

Iraq’s total number of coronavirus cases reached 372,259, of which 299,804 recovered and 9,298 died, according to the ministry’s figures.
