SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraqi security forces arrested an Islamic State (ISIS) woman in Kirkuk city on Thursday, Iraq’s intelligence agency said.

The Iraqi Agency of Intelligence and Federal Investigation said its forces had managed to arrest a “terrorist” wanted in accordance with Article 4 of counter-terrorism law.

“She is logistically supporting ISIS by transporting food and clothes as well as medical supplies in exchange for money,” the agency added.

“The terrorist was distributing the so-called bail to the families of ISIS militants in the camps for displaced people,” it stated.

Recently, Iraqi forces have stepped up efforts to detain ISIS militants in the provinces of Kirkuk, Saladin, Nineveh, Anbar and Baghdad. The security forces have detained and killed dozens of ISIS members in the past weeks.

Iraqi intelligence units detained 17 ISIS members in several areas in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Iraq declared victory over Islamic State in December 2017 but the militants have regrouped in the Hamrin mountain range which extends into the northern provinces – an area described by officials as a “triangle of death”.
