The legislative session will be extended to resolve the issue of the speaker of Iraq

SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The House of Representatives of Iraq is scheduled to hold its regular session today and is expected to decide to extend the legislative season in order to resolve the issue of electing the speaker.

Dr. Bryar Rashid, the Iraqi House of Representatives member, said, “The House of Representatives will decide today to extend the legislative session in order to elect the speaker next week.”.

“It is true that the Sunnis have not yet reached a final agreement, but there is a rapprochement, and two candidates are being discussed for the election: Saleem Isawi and Mahmood Mashhadani,” he said.

Regarding the sending of the budget amendment to the House of Representatives, he added that “if the government sends the budget during the parliamentary recess, it can be decided in an extraordinary session.”.
