SULAIMANI – (ESTA) The Iraqi Finance Ministry said that the Ministry’s Accounting Office has sent the money for the salaries of the employees of the security institutions in the Kurdistan Region for February.
The payment was made according to the letter of the Accounting Office of the Ministry of Finance on April 3, after completing all the procedures for the payment of salaries of central government employees, based on letters of the Financial Supervision Bureau No. (8422) on March 28 and No. (8670) on the 1st of April.
Earlier, the Esta media network reported that the problem of the salaries of some of the peshmerga and security forces, which previously arose because of a lack of sending their names to Baghdad, has been resolved, and Baghdad has agreed to send them.
Earlier, the Iraqi Ministry of Finance sent more than 600 billion dinars for the February salaries. By sending Peshmerga and security forces salaries, the monthly salaries of the region’s employees were resolved.
Iraqi Justice Minister Khalid Shuani said yesterday that “there is no problem in sending the salaries of the KRGs employees, and if the procedures are completed, the Iraqi government will send the third-month salaries of this year before Eid al-Fitr.”
Also, he added, “The KRG should coordinate with the Iraqi government to send the salaries monthly like other regions, while the Iraqi government officials have emphasized that the salaries will not be mixed with political issues and will be sent monthly.”
