SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A car bomb exploded in a vegetable market in the Syrian town of Ras al-Ain on Saturday with reports of several were killed and wounded, according to Syria’s state news agency.
Reuters cited residents as saying that two people were killed and several were wounded.
Turkey, which is allied with some rebel groups opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, seized control of the town in 2019 in an offensive to push back the People’s Protection Units (YPG).
Ras al-Ain lies on the Turkish-Syrian border in the north of Syria.
