SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The Patriot Union of Kurdistan (PUK) newly-elected leadership council is set to convene its inaugural meeting on Sunday.
“The newly-elected PUK leadership council under the leadership of the party’s President, Bafel Talabani, is set to hold a meeting tomorrow in Sulaimani,” said Srtan Abdullah, a member of the council.
He also added that the meeting will mark the first gathering of the newly-elected council.
This development follows the conclusion of the PUK’s fifth congress, which took place in Sulaimani on September 27, 2023.
During the five-day event, Bafel Talabani was re-elected as the party’s president, while 60 other individuals were appointed as members of the leadership council.
