Turkish Air Forces Strike 16 PKK Targets in Iraq: Defense Ministry

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Turkish air forces carried out airstrikes in the Kurdistan Region on Tuesday night, targeting 16 locations associated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), according to Turkey’s defense ministry.

The operations took place in the Metina, Gara, Hakurk, Qandil, and Asos regions at 8 p.m. The ministry emphasized that precautions were taken to prevent harm to civilians and the environment.

In a separate incident, two individuals detonated a bomb in front of government buildings in Ankara on Sunday, resulting in their own deaths and injuries to two police officers. The PKK claimed responsibility for the attack.
