Netherlands reiterates support for Kurdistan’s Counter-Terrorism Group

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A senior Dutch military delegation on Sunday reiterated the Kingdom of Netherlands’ support for the Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) forces.   

CTG director-general Wahab Halabjai received a high-level Dutch military delegation at the main headquarters in Sulaimani.

The delegation was headed by Colonel Kees Marselis, the military advisor for Peshmerga reforms at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Erbil.

The two sides discussed the latest steps of the reform process within the Region’s Peshmerga Ministry and the reorganization of the forces.

Discussions between the CTG official and the Dutch advisor also included the obstacles that hindered Peshmerg reforms.

In the meantime, the Dutch military delegation reiterated their support to the CTG forces and its commanders for their continued efforts to combat and eliminate the threats of terror in the area.

For his part, the CTG director-general extended his words of gratitude to the Dutch delegation for the Netherlands’ continued support to the Peshmerga forces, including the CTG.
