SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s Defense Minister is scheduled to make a visit to the United States to hold talks with Pentagon officials, according to a spokesman on Tuesday.

Iraq’s Defense Minister visit comes on an official invitation from Pentagon, said Yahya Rasool, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi armed forces.

During the visit, the Iraqi Minister is accompanied by the head of the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (ICTS), the Chief of staff of the army, as well as the deputy commander of the joint forces, Rasool said.

“The Iraqi delegation will discuss supporting the Iraqi forces to combat terror, US-Iraq coordination for mutual interest, and the exchange of intelligence information with the U.S. Defense officials,” he said.
