KRG and Baghdad discuss federal hydrocarbon law – statement

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Saturday discussed the federal hydrocarbon law with the Iraqi officials in Baghdad.

During the meeting, officials from the KRG delegation, as well as the Iraqi government touched on the importance of the hydrocarbon law, according to a joint statement released after the meeting.

The meeting also witnessed an emphasis on finalizing the law as soon as possible with the participation of the Kurdistan Region and other oil-producing provinces.

“The meeting’s atmosphere was positive,” the statement said. “It reflected the interest and keenness of all parties to finalize the law.”

Discussions also included forming a follow-up committee, which will be responsible for the re-organization of afterward meetings.

“May god bless us with successes to implement this national duty that serve our beloved country and entire Iraq’s people,” the statement added.
