PUK President discusses Erbil-Baghdad issues with Victory Alliance leader

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) President Bafel Talabani on Wednesday met with the leader of the Victory Alliance, Haidar al-Abadi, in Baghdad.

The two sides discussed the latest political developments in the country and stressed commitment to the constitution and real partnership, according to a statement from Talabani’s office.

They also discussed the disagreements between Erbil and Baghdad, where Talabani stated that “Our all efforts aim to secure a decent life for our people.”

“We intensified our steps and we want to be led the Kurdistan Region to prosperity and stability,” he added.

PUK’s Talabani launched a days-long diplomatic journey to the Iraqi capital last Monday to discuss issues and obstacles in the political process and terminates the problems that grasped the Kurdistan Region.

Since then, he had carried out multiple vital meetings with senior Iraqi officials and leaders, including the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Speaker, and the President of the country.
