Police say it had apprehended suicide bomber in Kirkuk

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — The police forces on Tuesday successfully apprehended a suicide bomber in the city of Kirkuk.

Initial investigations released by the police have shown that the suicide bomber had several pieces of improvised explosive device (IED) in his backpack.

The suspect has yet to be identified.

“We successfully defused the bombs,” Kawa Gharib, the director of police said.

According to Gharbi’s words, the suspect has planned to carry out suicidal actions.

Gharib did not offer further specifications.

The suspect was apprehended in the bus depot of Kirkuk City, while on board a bus with his explosive backpack in the morning hours.
