SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Three casualties were reported in Kurdistan’s Garmian after an armed confrontation between the security forces and an outlawed group on Monday.

The Kurdistan Region’s Security Service (Asaysih) said two of its members were injured whilst attempting to arrest an outlawed armed group.

The group was known as the “Garmian Volunteer Force”.

One member of the group was also killed as the result of the armed confrontation, according to Asayish.

Asaysih further said that the group caused chaos and disturbed the people.

“They caused panic among the people by firing random gunshots, threatening, blackmailing, and extortion,” Asayish said.

Court issued a warrant for the member of the outlawed group.

“They have been arrested and faced the law,” Asayish added.
