Iraq’s state-run North Oil Company catches fire

SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Iraq’s state-run North Oil Company (NOC) caught fire on Wednesday.

Earlier yesterday, a cloud of thick black smoke billowed in the sky in the disputed-Kirkuk City, where the NOC is located.

Firefighters’ teams were immediately deployed to tackle the fire.

No reports of damages and casualties were available.

The Iraqi oil ministry did not release any official statements or clarifications regarding the incident.

The cause of the fire has remained unclear.
