SULAIMANI (ESTA) — Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Tuesday congratulated the Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
“I congratulate this holy feast to the worldwide Muslims, especially in Kurdistan,” he said in a statement.
“Islam is both a religion, as well as a civilization, and it’s one of the prettiness of the Kurdish society,” he said.
“We should take inspiration from Eid al-Adha for the sake of tolerance, peace, and prevailing the spirit of accepting each other,” he added. “May god accept the prayers of pilgrims.”
Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, is celebrated by Muslims across the globe. It is the second major Muslim festival in the Islamic calendar after Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
This year, Muslims’ celebrations of Eid al-Adha will begin on June 28, and last for four days.
